Vitruvian Lights – Dec 2014

As our last “official” field trip of 2014, we had a great turn out and a beautiful evening of photographing the lights at Vitruvian Park in Addison.  There were 14 members who gathered for the lighted display of trees in this unique and magical area known as the “Vitruvian Lights”.  With over 200 trees wrapped from trunk to tip with millions of colorful Christmas lights, the park is transformed into a magical holiday wonderland.

A few members met for dinner at the Addison Ice House while others took advantage of the “golden hour” to shoot while there was still some light in the skies.  We then all met at 6:30pm to continue photographing the lights.

With a walkway that meanders along the creek with views of the reflections in the water, there’s not much more beautiful.  Everywhere along the walkways, bridges, and little islands, one has a magnificent view of lighted trees and reflections in the water.  As we were leaving, the moon was rising over the trees.  What a beautiful sight indeed.

Those who were not able to make it this night should try to find time to visit the Vitruvian Lights.  There is live entertainment on Saturday evenings so plan your trip accordingly.  We promise you will love the area and it will put you in the holiday spirit.

Lana and I want to thank everyone who participated in our club outings this year and we look forward to shooting with everyone in 2015.
